FMS 2010 Dec
The test of FMS was of 200 questions, like last year. The “FMS 2010 Dec” (Held on 5 Dec 2010) paper was slightly higher in terms of difficulty level as compared to last years. A good speed with better accuracy was the key to clear the cut offs. An overall attempt of 100+ with 80 % accuracy will lead to a score of 300+ which should be a comfortable score.

On a whole verbal was most scoring section in minimum time and Maths was a bit difficult & less time made the job worse. Still 22+ question in MA with 33 + in Verbal gives a good balance. RC section this time has smaller RCs as compared to last years with 10 to 15 questions each and had moderate difficulty such that a student can manage 25+ questions here also. LR section this year was tricky but less time consuming and a students must attempts 33+ this time.
In short just like every year FMS was a High Speed Moderate accuracy test where at the end students surely felt tired but happy since in each section there were questions which were manageable.
Mathematical Ability
The difficulty level of the section can be rated as moderate. In 30 minutes planned time an attempt of around 25 questions out of 50 is manageable. The topic wise breakup of the section is as follows:

Verbal Comprehension Ability
This year FMS has thrown lesser challenge for the candidates as far as language section is concerned. Overall language is asked in two sections with 50 questions each.
Unlike previous years’ pattern this year RCs were not very lengthy but still the questions were time consuming and inferential. In the allotted time limit of 30 mins 23 25 Qs could be done by good selection of RCs. The level of difficulty of this section is moderate while only one passage can be graded as tough. Topic wise distribution of passages is as follows:

A good variety of questions is seen in Verbal Section where there is a mix of time consuming and confusing questions to very easy questions. By hand picking good selected questions one can afford to solve as many as 2527 questions in the allotted time. Overall difficulty level of this section is moderate. Interpretation and Reasoning Ability
The variety of questions asked this year in FMS was as per the standard variety of FMS. The change was in terms of number of questions of different variety. The number of questions of DI was 8 only that too given in terms of single bar graph. The questions of DI had two statements and the students had to check the statements to be correct or wrong. So calculations were required in the questions. Other variety of questions included standard variety like, coding decoding, matching model type analytical reasoning, set theory to be done by observations, mathematical reasoning single questions type and blood relationship based questions. The questions of coding decoding had reasoning based cases.
