SNAP 2010
Analysis

The test of SNAP was of 150 questions, like last years’. The “SNAP 2010 Dec” (Held on 19 Dec 2010) paper was slightly easy in terms of difficulty level as compared to last years’. A good speed with better accuracy was the key to clear the cut offs. An overall attempt of 120+ marks with 90% accuracy will lead to a score of 108+ which should be a comfortable score for SIBM.

Analysis
On a whole Quant was most scoring section in minimum time and Reasoning was also easy in difficulty level. 22+ questions in Reasoning with 25+ in Quant gives a good balance. In VA also, a student can manage 27+ questions in a time span of 25 mins. GA section this year was tricky but less time consuming and a students must attempt 18+ this time.

In short just like every year SNAP was a High Speed Moderate accuracy test where at the end students surely felt tired but happy since in each section there were questions which were manageable.

Section 1: Quantitative and Data Interpretation and Sufficiency
The difficulty level of the section can be rated as easy-moderate. In 30 minutes planned time an attempt of around 25 questions out of 40 is manageable. The topic wise breakup of the section is as follows:

Section  2: Analytical & Logical Reasoning
The variety of questions asked this year in SNAP was as per the standard variety of SNAP. The change was in terms of number of questions of different variety. The number of questions of DI was 2 only that too given in terms of single table. Other variety of questions included standard variety like, analytical reasoning, set theory to be done by observations, mathematical reasoning single questions type, puzzles, syllogism and series based questions. The difficulty level of the section can be rated as easy-moderate. In 40 minutes planned time an attempt of around 22 questions out of 30 is manageable. The topic wise breakup of the section is as follows:

Section 3: General Awareness
This year GA section was more on current affairs and business affairs and economy. Questions from almost all areas were asked. The section was of moderate to tougher difficulty level.
Overall an attempt of  15-18 is enough to clear cut offs for SIBM.
Section 4: Verbal Communication
In this section, questions were spread over RC, EU and VA. The section was the simplest. A person with good knowledge can attempt almost all questions. Some questions were bit confusing else entire section was a cake walk. In a time limit of 25 minutes, an attempt of  27-30 would be an ideal score.
