SNAP 2007 Analysis
Executive Summary
Symbiosis lived up to its reputation and came up with an easy paper. With the pattern, number of questions per section, marks and the duration of the exam specified prior to the exam itself, the exam was in true sense “piece of cake”.
But that also means higher cut offs and lots of attempts. In general one would be required to attempt at least 100 or more questions with decent accuracy if one is to get a call from premier institutions like SIBM or SCMHRD. All the sections of the test were easy and provided ample opportunity for the candidate to score. Total number of questions was reduced to 150 from the last year's 165 questions. In terms of the types of questions, there were hardly any changes in this year's test as compared to SNAP 2006.

Overall an attempt of 25-30 was very much possible in about 30 minutes and a student would do well to score 20+ marks in this section.
Logical Reasoning
The section had 30 questions worth 2 marks each. Some questions were difficult and they could be skipped. About 20 questions were easy in this section and hence one can easily score about 30-35 marks in this section in 30-35 minutes.

General Awareness:
There were 40 questions and these were a mix of sports, IT, films, science, business/economy, persons, quotation, history, etc. Majority of the questions was on IT (4), Business/economy (8), science (4) and current affairs (8). Although the questions were all one-liners and looked simple, only a person who is a regular reader of newspapers could have attempted them with ease.
Ideally one could attempt 25 questions in this section with a possible score of 18-20 marks.
General English
This section had questions from the Reading Comprehension and Verbal areas. The passages were of a slightly higher difficulty level than those that had appeared in SNAP in previous years. There were four passages on a variety of topics viz., science, entrepreneurship, trade and quality of a person. Out of 4 passages, 3 passages (14 questions) were simple. These 14 questions were direct and could be located from the passage easily. The passages were of medium length and easy to comprehend. Only the passage on ‘trade' (5 questions) was slightly difficult for understanding though the passage was of medium length. All the 5 questions based on this passage were inferential ones.
